Hello and welcome! My name is Alicia, mom of 2 and a former corporate employee, working 15 years in marketing. I spent my career working across various creative agencies and most recently with a global alcohol beverage company. I am grateful for the knowledge I gained from all of my experiences, but decided to leave the corporate world when my oldest child was 2. Over the last year I had heard rumblings of “digital marketing”, but the term never felt fully defined and, of course, always seemed to constantly be evolving. Once I decided to dig into it, I was blown away by the percieved opportunity, yet complete chaos that I was witnessing on social media. For someone coming from traditional marketing, I could see digital marketing was making its wave and it was appearing to be a permanent one, certainly the future of marketing. But, what really was it and how could I get started? Where could I get a straight answer?

After hours of research, it became very obvious that learning the fundamentals of digital marketing were critical in order to be successful. That’s when I decided to purchase the Roadmap 2.0 course (now updated to 3.0). After researching the other courses that were out there at length, Roadmap was the one to rise to the top as the most comprehensive and foundational to get started. I also wanted to put my money toward something that was authentic, had integrity and was not a get-rich-quick scheme. After taking the course, I can confirm all of these things to be true of Roadmap.

Once I completed the course, I realized how much FREEDOM could come from learning this new skill. Freedom, of course, means something different to everyone. For me, it meant the ability to make money differently - in a way that my generation was not privileged to fully understand, until now. We were told to follow the system, go to college, get our corporate jobs and that would lead to success. But when you talk to anyone in my generation, most of us can agree that we aren’t feeling that promised “success”. I could see that with digital marketing, we could start to do things against the grain (and more easier than ever). We could be home with our children, while still bringing in an income. We could stop spending the majority of our lives commuting to an office. Throughout this process, I also discovered that there is something quite creative about starting a digital marketing business, which for me is very important. It requires strategizing, designing, creating. That, in itself, gave a huge sense of freedom - I was building my own business!
